Toro Launches All-electric Greens Roller
Toro has announced the launch of the GreensPro® e1700, its first all-electric greens roller, available globally from June 2026 through the Toro distributor network.
Built in response to the pressures turf teams now face every day around efficiency, noise, and maintenance, it marks a clear step in Toro’s move toward electric turf equipment, connecting familiar rolling performance with a simpler, more practical operating experience.
Rolling has become a central part of greens management for many turf professionals, reducing mowing frequency and helping deliver the consistent surfaces golfers expect. The category itself, though, has changed very little in recent years, which is what the GreensPro e1700 has been designed to address.
Toro’s HyperCell® lithium-ion battery technology sits at the heart of the machine, supported by independent direct drive on all three rollers for steady traction and controlled movement across the green. Because there are no hydraulics on board, routine maintenance is reduced, and the risk of fluid contamination on the green is minimised.
Designed with the operator in mind, the e1700 features joystick-based “Point and Go” control and expandable battery capacity, making it straightforward to use and adaptable across different course sizes and rolling schedules. The integrated SmartHitch transport system cuts out the need for separate trailers, saving time each time the machine moves from one green to the next.
Andrew Ihrke, senior international marketing manager at The Toro Company, said: “The GreensPro e1700 reflects how we see turf equipment continuing to evolve, with a practical design built around operator needs. It brings together the performance turf teams expect with a machine that is easier to run day to day.”
The e1700 was first shown at BTME in Harrogate, UK, in January 2026 and later at the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show in the US in February. Both events drew strong interest from golf greenskeepers, fine turf managers, and distributors.
